ANDES EMPIRE vs LADY GENTS

Only for the coming week, Thursday is the day in which we set Happy Hour at ContestaRH Rione Monti.
The  reason is a peculiar mix of rock music and art exhibition with the angry sound of Andes Empire and the sophisticated elegance of “Ladies & Gents”, a series of paintings inspired by the 20s’ and made by artist Heidi Hirvonen.

Happy Hour at ContestaRockHair means arts brought into the every-day system, a special occasion to merge any kind of performance (live music – theater – paintings and short movies) while our stylists imperturbably carry out their job feeling absolutely comfortable in an environment of music and entertainment.

This “joint venture” on Thursday ,17 is given by mixing two different languages – music and painting -and two “tones of voice” absolutely jarring. Andes Empire, in fact, is a young and emerging band funded in Italy, releasing their debut album -“Reverse” – with line up with Miguel Montalban (singer / guitarist) and America Ulloa (Drummer) from Santiago del Chile and a third element Victor Richardson.

Their world is a real crushing-rock explosion and probably will be an unusual frame for the silent characters created by the Finnish painter Heidi Hirvonen, men and women figures depicted as Ladies and Gentlemen from the 20s standing on black and white landscapes; Snapshot taken from a long past and  meticulously made with oil paint, enamel and acrylic on wood.

Hence, What these “Ladies and Gents” may think about the rock sound they are going to witness to, so distant from their era?
Come over and discover it with us on Thursday 17, 2013 from 7 pm during the Happy Hour @ ContestaRockHair!
